John Petrey

Biography

Yardsticks, shingles, playing cards and bottle caps. These are the building blocks of John Petrey’s collection of nostalgic dresses, inspired by his favorite 1960s sitcom mothers. Previously a photographer, Petrey now exhibits his mixed-media work at art festivals, galleries and in his Chattanooga, Tenn., shop. “I want to create work that will speak to people for generations to come,” he says. Petrey was featured in the October 2008 issue of AmericanStyle.
