“At the Edge of the Fountain,” 2010, 16in. x 11in., oil on canvas
Looking at Lindsay Goodwin’s representational paintings will take you back to a time when elegance, beauty and refinement reigned. As an admirer of Norman Rockwell illustrations, she uses old photographs to transport herself back in time to get every detail just right. “As I paint a cafe scene, I hear wine glasses clattering, a laugh cracking out, the murmur of conversation,” she says. Since graduating from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Goodwin has had numerous commissions and shows, and can be seen in galleries across the United States. She was featured in the December 2006 issue of AmericanStyle.
